About Christina

Christina Morris (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. She has experience working in university and outpatient private practice treating adults, couples, families, and groups.

You can expect Christina to show up as an authentic, compassionate person who doesn’t shy away from using humor or pop culture metaphors. Though flexible in her approach, she draws from evidence-based therapies such cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure and response prevention, sex therapy, and Gottman-informed approaches. Christina often incorporates scientific psychoeducation to help her clients fully understand their past experiences and to teach skills such as emotional regulation, effective communication, and behavioral change. It is her goal as a clinician to help her clients identify and wholeheartedly pursue their unique priorities and values in life. Christina deeply cherishes the diversity and individuality of her clients and does not apply a one-size-fits-all treatment approach.

Christina’s clinical interests largely center around relationships, mood concerns such as anxiety and OCD, and body-related issues. Specifically, Christina provides secular, science-based premarital counseling to couples of all gender + sexual identities, teaching vital relational skills and prompting important discussions about relationship goals. Christina also applies this knowledge in individual sessions to move clients toward healthier relationships of all kinds. Additionally, with experience treating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), Christina helps her clients reach a balanced, sustainable relationship with food and exercise. Lastly, as a classically trained musician, Christina is uniquely qualified to work with concerns surrounding careers and education in the performing arts.

In her off time, you can find Christina trying new recipes, finding a new DIY project to start and probably not finish, reading trending fiction novels, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and rescue dog, Teddy.

Christina is currently accepting new adult clients at the Dallas location. To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with her, please email cmorris@dtacare.com.
