She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate relationship challenges, including those faced by pre-engaged, engaged, and married couples. Mary Kate creates a safe, authentic space where clients can explore emotional health, body image, and faith-related challenges.

Mary Kate holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She also earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She works under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Bates and Erica Carpenter, LMFT-S, ensuring that her practice is grounded in professional expertise. Her educational background provides her with a deep understanding of family systems, conflict resolution, and the role of communication in relationships.

She offers Christian counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their faith into therapy, while always allowing clients to lead the direction of the work. She is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment where therapy is personalized to each client’s needs and values.

Her therapeutic approach is Person-Centered and Eclectic, prioritizing a supportive, collaborative space while integrating evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs. In therapy, Mary Kate works with clients to set meaningful and effective goals, always viewing challenges through a systemic lens. Whether in couples, family, or individual therapy, she explores both internal dynamics and external factors that may be influencing the client’s experiences.

Mary Kate’s goal is to help clients adapt to life’s challenges, especially during times of transition. By focusing on practical solutions and collaborative goal-setting, she equips clients with the tools and perspectives necessary for personal and relational growth. She values diversity in her practice and strives to create an environment where every client feels heard and respected.

Outside of therapy, Mary Kate enjoys Pilates, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and walking her dog, Piper.
