About Sophia
Sophia is a dedicated therapist who works with individuals across the lifespan (children, teens, and adults) who are navigating a wide range of challenges. Her counseling interests include trauma, PTSD symptom reduction, abuse, sexual assault, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, grief/loss and relational issues. Sophia’s theoretical foundations are rooted in Existential theory, Adlerian theory, and Cognitive Processing Therapy; however she uses a variety of other treatment approaches in order to meet the specific needs of her clients. Throughout her work Sophia is passionate about helping clients explore their worldview, sense of self, and relationships with others. She integrates trauma-informed care, cognitive processing techniques, and various other methods to foster healing and resilience. Her approach is holistic, with an emphasis on helping clients cultivate deeper knowledge about themselves in order to help them fulfill their individual potential and to achieve personal growth and self-fulfillment.
Sophia understands that experiences of shame, guilt, and trauma can deeply impact one’s sense of meaning, purpose, and identity. Her goal is to help clients process these emotions in a safe and compassionate space—empowering them to heal, grow, and create more fulfilling, well rounded lives.
Sophia is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), supervised by Dr. Karla Gomez-Estrada of Dallas Therapy Associates & Dr. Lisa Grubbs (LPC-S). She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Texas A&M and earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Woman’s University.
